Mike Bujdos

Head Coach


A Cleveland, Ohio native, Mike attended St. Edward High School where he won three state championships, while also playing on two nationally ranked Team Ohio Midget teams.  After high school Mike made the transition to Junior A hockey, playing three seasons between the AWHL and USHL.  He earned a scholarship to NCAA Division I- American International College, where he served as a team captain his junior and senior seasons.  Mike went on to play one year of minor pro hockey before retiring.  He is now in his sixth year of coaching (third with the Barons), working mainly with mite and squirt aged hockey players.  

Brad Urban

Assistant Coach

Brad played his youth hockey in the Olmsted Falls organization.  He would go on to letter in both hockey and baseball at Olmsted Falls High school, with the latter earning him a Division I scholarship.  Brad began coaching in the Rocky River youth program and moved over to the Barons at the start of the 2015-2016 season.

Doug Slifko

Assistant Coach

Doug was born and raised in Cleveland. He played youth hockey for Cleveland Heights, played 4 years of varsity hockey for Heights high, winning the Baron Cup his senior year and advancing to the state final four championship.  Doug also played college club hockey for Wooster. In 1996-97 he was an assistant coach for the Heights varsity hockey team. He was a head coach and an assistant coach at all levels with Shaker youth hockey from 2004-2016 and has been an assistant coach for the Cleveland Barons for the past 3 seasons.

Bryse Joy

Assistant Coach

Just a kid from Kent Ohio, Bryse grew up playing youth hockey for Tri-County.  He went on to play 4 years of varsity hockey at Kent Roosevelt High School and served the team as captain both Junior and Senior year.  Bryse eventually returned to his roots and started coaching for the Kent Cyclones.  He is level 3 certified and served as the head coach for multiple teams over the  past 6 years .  He also served as VP of Coaching and Team Affairs for the Kent Cyclones for the past 3 years.
